Conclusion
I wish I'd had this class before I attempted to build an online collection this past summer! I would have saved myself a tremendous amount of time and heartache. However I'm excited to have these new skills under my belt so that I can revisit that project and tackle new ones. I also can't wait to start digitizing my family's home videos!

You evolved a lot throughout the course, and that is always good to observe. It was also refreshing for me as a teacher to have a student with an eye on the industry, and aware of the new trends. I want to clarify some aspects of your last blog. One is related to the file naming convention. As you said in your presentation, you should have worked with a convention that respected the structure of the item. A digitized item can have many files, or two sides, etc. We discussed that during the class and when visiting the DigiBook. Re your decision to keep a publication tif. The PCL digitization unit does that, they keep the master untouched, the modified tif as publication master, and the jpg as a derivative for access. We spoke about that and for the purposes of the course, I asked you only for the archival master and the publication file. I am glad that you learned!
